WHAT WE DO

Diachem Spa holds registrations for plant protection and nutritional products in Italy and in several European and non-European countries; Diachem’s registrations are also distributed to third-party companies.

Diachem Spa in its plant in Caravaggio (BG – Italy) produces agrochemicals, fertilizers, biostimulants and in general solutions for agricultural use, both synthetic and of natural origin.

Diachem Spa operates in four divisions:

“direct sales”, that is, the sale in Italy of plant protection and nutritional products under its own brand, through a network of agents that cater to private customers, cooperatives and consortia that in turn sell to consumers
“third distribution Italy”, i.e. sales in Italy of plant protection and nutritional products resulting from their registration and production activities to national and multinational companies that configure themselves as distributors
“third distribution Export”, i.e. sales outside Italy of plant protection and nutritional products resulting from their registration and production activities to national and multinational companies that configure themselves as distributors
“toll manufacturing”, i.e. industrial activity on behalf of third parties formulating and/or packaging plant protection and nutritional products with registered ownership by customers.

Structure

GMP

Diachem Spa is controlled by the GMP Spa group, a holding company of the Dubbini family.

The coordination at GMP Spa concerns 3 agricultural subsidiaries: Diachem Spa, Diachem BV, Pireco Productie BV.

In addition, GMP Spa controls Sostel Srl (a company specialising in the sale and installation of equipment and technological solutions in healthcare) and has a small stake in Nanomnia Srl (an innovative SME in the biotechnology sector).

In 2017, GMP Spa acquired Pireco Productie BV, a Dutch company based in Lelystad, specializing in natural biostimulants and plant extract products.

In November 2023, GMP established Diachem BV in the Netherlands, a new company name dedicated exclusively to the sale of plant protection products in the Netherlands, primarily registered by its Italian subsidiary Diachem Spa.

PIRECO

Biosolutions: the future before everyone else.

In 2017 GMP acquired Pireco Productie B.V., a Dutch company based in Lelystad specialized in the research and production of natural biostimulants and plant extract-based products with “zero” environmental impact.
With Pireco, Diachem has started to pursue the path of ecological and sustainable solutions for a wide range of crop pests and other issues of conventional and organic agriculture and horticulture.

Our History

A 100% Italian story

Chimiberg, Diagro, but always and in any case: Diachem. Established in 1937 from the intuition of the brothers Luigi and Amleto Dubbini, Diachem has become, over more than 60 years of history, a respected industrial partner for leading companies in the global market. Today, at its Caravaggio industrial plant, Diachem manufactures products for its own brands and third parties, formulates products for major companies in the agrochemical and fertilizer market, and packages them offering timely and tailored solutions to meet everyone’s needs.

1937

Foundation

Luigi Dubbini, civil engineer, together with his brother Amleto, textile chemist, founded a company for the production and marketing of chemicals for the tanning industry.

1947

Establishment of Chimiberg S.r.l.

The company is named Chimiberg S.r.l. (Bergamo Chemicals) keeping its expertise in the field of auxiliary chemical products for the textile industry.

1957

The opening to agriculture

Ezio Dubbini, son of Luigi, expands the company’s business to the production and marketing of chemical products for the agricultural industry.

1967

Establishment of Diachem S.p.A.

Chimiberg S.r.l. changes its name to Diachem S.p.a. (Development Industrial and Agricultural Chemicals), specializing exclusively in the formulation of agrochemicals and agronutrients for crops.

80s

The second generation

Ezio's three sons, Gianluigi, Marco, and Paolo, take over the family business.

1986

From Albano to Caravaggio

Purchase of the Caravaggio production site (formerly a Cifa’s plant and, before that, Giba-Geigy’s), and gradual transfer of activities from the original plant to Albano Sant'Alessandro (BG).

2006

Establishment of Diagro S.r.l.

Establishment of Diagro Ltd., a company owned by the Dubbini family and a partner, specialized in plant nutrition products.

2012

New headquarters

Diachem's offices are moved to the Caravaggio headquarters to get even closer to the production site.

2017

Zero-impact vision

Acquisition of PIRECO Productie B.V., a Dutch company specialized in biostimulants and plant-based extract products with "zero" environmental impact.

2021

Diachem World, more Power to Ideas

Diagro ceases to exist as a firm, but it remains a trademark under which Diachem promotes agronutrients in Italy.

2023

Diachem BV is established

It's the new company name dedicated exclusively to the sale of plant protection products in the Netherlands, primarily registered by its Italian subsidiary Diachem Spa.

2024

DIACHEM: embracing agriculture

A new phase in Diachem’s history begins. The Diagro and Chimiberg trademarks, which were used to promote agronutrients and agrochemicals, are no longer in use and are now simply referred to as Diachem. At the same time, Diachem Netherlands is established.
